Gough Island Meteorological Station Part 1
The Tristan da Cunha Post Office has released a new stamp series commemorating the Gough Island Meteorological Station, established in 1956 to provide crucial, uninterrupted weather data from the remote South Atlantic. Operated by the South African Weather Service on a UNESCO World Heritage site, the station maintains a 70-year legacy of scientific observation initiated after a 1955-1956 British expedition.
