Shipping policy
SHIPPING FROM TRISTAN da CUNHA POST OFFICE AND TOURISM DEPARTMENT (TPOTD)
All items are shipped on the next available boat that departs the Island. TPOTD have approx. 9 postal dispatches a year. All mail goes to Cape Town first before onward dispatch to the rest of the world. We have no control over third-party postal services so CANNOT guarantee delivery times. Delivery can take from 2 – 6 months depending on destination.
From Cape Town, all philatelic items are dispatched by registered airmail, and gift shop items are dispatched by surface parcel with a tracking number.
All mail will use Tristan da Cunha Stamps. If you wish to have particular stamps as postage, just ask via postoffice.tourismtdc@gmail.com.

Your Obligations
Please ensure you enter the correct delivery address when ordering items. If there is any customer error in the address given, redelivery to the correct address may incur an additional delivery charge.
Once an order has been passed on to the South African Post Office, TPOTD is no longer responsible. TPOTD will not be held responsible for any loss or damage arising from a late or missing delivery. A late delivery does not constitute reasonable grounds to cancel an order.
Customs Requirements
Your order may be subject to import duties and taxes (including VAT), which are incurred once a shipment reaches your destination country. Any additional charges or matters are your responsibility as the customer.
Please contact your local customs office for further information and check you can import the items being ordered.
Returns
If you have any issues with your purchase please contact postoffice.tourismtdc@gmail.com.
In the event of return of product, you must:
- Notify your intention of cancellation in writing by e-mail to postoffice.ourismtdc@gmail.com - ensuring that you quote your name, address, contact details and order reference number; and
- If you have already received the goods, contact the TPOTD on postoffice.ourismtdc@gmail.com or by telephone +44 20 3014 5103/5104. Goods must be returned with the original receipt. Products returned must be in perfect re-saleable condition, unused and with the original packaging.
Once the goods are received in the condition that they were in when delivered, TPOTD will refund the client the purchase price of the goods.
Administrative Charge
All prices include a 6% administrative charge to cover bank fees etc.
